How it fits together

What autonomous operations actually takes

Autonomous operations is not one product. It is four, in a shape: two you can start with on their own, one that needs both, and control on top. Here is what each one is.

  1. Start here Maintenance Management It runs its own work
  2. Start here DataPilot It sees itself
  3. AI insights Predix It explains itself, says what to change, and runs predictive maintenance
  4. Autonomous control KoPilot It holds its own setpoints

The tiers, defined

Maintenance Management Start here
Work orders, preventive maintenance, asset records and spare parts, on the phone your technicians already carry. Displaces a whiteboard and somebody's memory.
DataPilot Start here
Every signal the plant produces, in one place, live and historical. Displaces the control-room panel.
Predix AI insights
Reports that say what changed and what to do next, and early warning of a failing machine. Displaces the weekly report someone rebuilds by hand every monday.
KoPilot Autonomous control
Closed-loop control of the process, minute by minute, with no human at the panel. Displaces setpoints tuned by hand, differently on every shift.

Who covers which product

Most tools in a site do exactly one of these, which is why adding a capability usually means adding another system that cannot see the last one.

Product Usually covered by What it cannot reach
Maintenance Management Standalone maintenance systems They never see the trend that should have raised the job.
DataPilot Data loggers and SCADA reporting tools They never see what a person records by hand.
Predix Analytics and business-intelligence tools They report on one system at a time, so they cannot explain a run, say what to change, or predict a failure.
KoPilot Almost nobody, in production Closing the loop needs physics the site can trust, not a forecast.

Koidra holds all four as unified operational data, which is the only reason the advisory layer and control are reachable at all. An agent can act only on what it can see.

Where most sites should start

Usually with Maintenance Management: nothing to connect, you set it up yourself, and the budget already exists. Or with DataPilot, if the trend nobody can see is what hurts. Most customers run one or both for a while before going further, and that is the right order.
